Julian Lastowski is admitted as attorney at law for all courts of the State of California, United States District Courts-Northern California and Eastern California, United States Tax Court, and United States 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. He has corporate, transactional and litigation experience, with emphasis on real estate, landlord tenant, wrongful eviction, rent board, discrimination, wrongful termination, insurance issues for carriers and brokers, small businesses, and counseling on a variety of legal issues for consumers and business. He has first chaired more than 50 jury trials to verdict, and 20 appeals and writs.
Previously, Julian was a Vice-President and senior attorney with Fidelity National Law Group, a division of the world’s largest family of escrow and title insurance companies. His primary focus was title litigation, successfully defending as well as prosecuting claims; the “go-to” counsel for various matters to internal and external clients in title, escrow, recoupment matters.
For more than 30 years before joining Fidelity, Julian maintained a general civil practice in San Francisco. In addition to litigation, he provided legal services in connection with real estate, contracts, mortgage and foreclosure, leasing, easements, insurance, trust/probate litigation, personal injury, business development, employee relations, contracts, employment law, human resources policy drafting and implementation, termination of employment agreement for management and hourly employees, discrimination and sexual harassment; franchising; administrative hearings before planning commissions, Section 8 housing, civil service board, labor commissioner, EDD, union grievance, insurance and customer issues.
Additionally, Julian was an instructor with the Art Institute of California-San Francisco, teaching Legal Issues and Ethics for Culinarians.
Julian acted as a temporary court commissioner for the San Francisco Superior Court, handling settlement conferences, Small Claims Court, and Traffic Court.
Julian was awarded his J.D. from the University of San Francisco, after receiving his B.A., with honors, from Rhode Island College in Providence, Rhode Island.
Julian has resided in San Francisco, on Potrero Hill, for more than thirty years; and he has been active on several non-profit boards.
